Jin Huaiyu “Pepe” focuses on intellectual property, sports law and cross-border legal service.
During his legal practice, Pepe represented or participated in a number of widely reported IP litigations (including trademark, geographical indication, anti-unfair competition, copyright, patent, etc.). He also organized nationwide IP protection projects for famous enterprises and organizations as a regional coordinator.
In the field of sports law, as a FIFA licensed football agent, Pepe is knowledgeable about regulations and rules of FIFA and Chinese FA, as well as the procedure of sports arbitration and mediation.
Before legal practice, Pepe spent years on law and policy research for several institutes in Beijing and Hong Kong. The reports on governmental regulations on the taxi industry that he co-authored resulted in lively discussions and inspired China’s first online car-hailing platform.
Pepe speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, English, Spanish and some Vietnamese. He has strong interest in and understanding of legal issues in emerging markets such as Latin America and ASEAN (particularly Vietnam) and has established global networks of both IP lawyers and football agents.
